    Description

    Offered is this vintage nearly-square glass plate with curved-in sides, given as a trophy to the champion of the Turin Tennis Championships of 1988. The center is etched with a logo of a tennis ball and two crossed racquets, along with the words "Turin Championships 1988". Below this the word "Champion" is etched in script letters. Turin may refer to Turin, Italy, but I have not been able to find any reference to a tournament held there in 1988. I have found three towns in the US named "Turin" but they are all very small and I don't know if they would have hosted a tennis tournament. If anyone has any information about this please let me know!
    The plate is approx. 7 7/8" x 7 3/4". It is in good condition, with no cracks or chips, but does have some scratches, surface marks and wear to the etching. Please excuse the reflections in the photos!
