Union Army Rubberized gum blanket. Keeps you dry in the field and can also be used as a poncho for those rainy re-enactments. Roughly 69 inches by 45 inches.
I did classroom demonstrations and re-enactments for about 25 years and kept my gear and uniform in good shape with some wear and tear. It is time to sell it all, so see my other auctions to totally outfit and equip yourself into the 20th Maine (or pretty much any other Union infantry regiment). This also allows you to avoid the abuse heaped on newbies and their straight-from-the-sutler uniform and equipment. Ask if you have any questions. People also asked for condition specifics: This is some sort of rubberized canvas or waterproof painted canvas, I'm not sure what to call it. Brass grommets. No rips, holes, or tears. Great shape. Opening in the middle to use as a poncho if wanted. I did a few hundred demonstrations for school kids and more than a few re-enactments. This stuff has been to Gettysburg (Not the actual battle or the movie, but you get the idea) so there is some wear and tear, and the brass will always have a hint of brass polish. You might notice that I mention brass polish a lot - If you do re-enactments, you will become very familiar with polishing.
