Reproduction Union Army .58 caliber leather cartridge box with US brass emblem. Includes tin slots in base. I did classroom demonstrations and re-enactments for about 25 years and kept my gear and uniform in good shape. It is time to sell it all, so see my other auctions to totally outfit and equip yourself into the 20th Maine (or pretty much any other Union infantry regiment). This also allows you to avoid the abuse heaped on newbies and their straight-from-the-sutler uniform and equipment. Ask if you have any questions. People also asked for condition specifics: The box is leather with a brass US and a brass knob at the bottom to keep it closed. There are a couple of tin inserts for cartridges inside the leather box. Nothing here is mint. I did a few hundred demonstrations for school kids and more than a few re-enactments. This stuff has been to Gettysburg (Not the actual battle or the movie, but you get the idea) so there is some wear and tear, and the brass will always have a hint of brass polish.
