    Description

This is a reproduction Union Civil War cartridge box with sling. The cartridge box is modeled after the Model 1855 .58 caliber box and comes with both cartridge tins. The box is equipped with a brass finial for the closure tab. There are no makers marks or inspector cartouches on the box or sling. In addition to the roller buckles on the bottom of the box to attach the sling, there are two belt loops sewn onto the back of the box. This enables the reenactor to wear the box on a waist belt if preferred. The out flap has tow slits in it for a box plate, but there is no plate with it. The sling is made of quality leather and is approximately 72" in length. The sling also has two slit in to use with a breast plate. All stitching is done in white thread and is strong and unbroken. This could be used by either Union or Confederate Infantry. I don't think this has been used more than once, if even that. But it is being sold as used in like new condition.
