Period correct, Civil War carbine cartridge box, most commonly used box during the War. This box is completely hand cut, hand dyed and hand sewn as were the originals of 100% American leather. Unlike many cheaper specimens this box is correctly rigged for both a belt and shoulder carry. The inside flap is stamped as the originals with the E. GAYLORD, CHICOPEE, MASS stamp and has the inspector stamp, A. D. Laidley on the outer flap. None of the current reproductions have these features of original boxes. This box has the wooden block to hold the cartridges.
