This Historical Reenacting item is from a smoke-free home and smoke-free environment.  Very well taken care of and from a personal collection of historical re-enacting uniforms and costumes.  This is clearing out of some left over costume and re-enacting items from a recent TV Movie film shoot.
Very, very Nice Civil War U.S. military issued Steel Bullseye Canteen with metal bands and fixtures.  Comes with Cork on metal chain as seen in the photos.  comes with a "Butternut" Tan WOOL cloth cover.  Also comes with excellent cotton cloth sling.  Never used, NEW and clean.
Canteen sling is long with plenty of room for adjustment... 85" long.
A great for canteen for living history, films and re-enacting, and a steal at this price and great looking.   I have not tested the canteen to see if it holds water.  A wooden canteen should be soaked with water inside to swell it so it holds water.  Can also be lined with bees wax to seal the inside.
