Description

TP59H - Up for auction is a Civil War era Tobacco Pouch and/or Wallet. While I do not have specific documentation of the item, I made this based on years of pipe smoking and trying different methods of carrying my tobacco. I made this for myself and it works well and so, I figure that a soldier of the period may have fashioned something similar. The pouch itself is lined with light brown leather with a BROWN w/BLUE LEAF 100% cotton print fabric outside and off white ducking lining for upper flap. Fabric is period reproduction from OLDE STURBRIDGE VILLAGE COLLECTIONS by JUDIE ROTHERMEL. Made to fold three times to secure the tobacco in the pouch. Pouch itself measures
3 1/2" X 6 1/2", item is new made and never used. Great for soldier or civilian alike or Cowboy reenactors, CAS, living historians of the Victorian era. Heck, I use mine for everyday usage!! I will say that the leather pouch does dry your tobacco out so I would not recommend it for long term storage of high quality tobacco. Also works as a great wallet for cash, credit cards or other non period items to conceal at an event.
PIPE IS NOT FOR SALE AND IS ;PICTURE FOR SCALE PURPOSES ONLY.
