    Description

TP59H - Up for auction is a Civil War era Tobacco Pouch. While I do not have specific documentation of the item, I made this based on years of pipe smoking and trying different methods of carrying my tobacco. I made this for myself and it works well and so, I figure that a soldier of the period may have fashioned something similar. The pouch itself is lined with dark brown leather with a Black w/White Leaves patter period fabric. It is a 100% cotton fabric outside and off white ducking lining for upper flap. Made to fold three times to secure the tobacco in the pouch. Pouch itself measures
3 1/2" X 6 1/2", item is new made and never used. Will hold approximately 1 ounce of your favorite blend. Great for soldier or civilian alike or Cowboy reenactors, CAS, living historians of the Victorian era. Heck, I use mine for everyday usage!! I will say that the leather pouch does dry your tobacco out so I would not recommend it for long term storage of high quality tobacco.
