Description

TP59H - Up for auction is a Civil War era Tobacco Pouch. While I do not have specific documentation of the item, I made this based on years of pipe smoking and trying different methods of carrying my tobacco. I made this for myself and it works well and so, I figure that a soldier of the period may have fashioned something similar. The pouch itself is lined with Light Brown leather with a GRAY/PURPLE w/GREEN DIAMONDS by LEGACY PATTERNS called LETTERS HOME circa1840 100% cotton fabric outside and White ducking lining for upper flap, hand sewn with Tan cotton thread. Made to fold three times to secure the tobacco in the pouch. Pouch itself measures
3 1/2" X 6 1/2", item is new made and never used. Great for soldier or civilian alike or Cowboy reenactors, CAS, living historians of the Victorian era. Heck, I use mine for everyday usage!! I will say that the leather pouch does dry your tobacco out so I would not recommend it for long term storage of high quality tobacco. Also great for a folding money/credit card wallet  to conceal your modern stuff at an event. The last pic is a scan of the actual fabric and is good representation of the actual color.
