Description
*This truck is being relisted as there were many questions as to when the pictures were taken since the camera had a default date of 1/1/2008. New pictures were taken this week and are shown below*.This ultra-rare 1979 Ford F-150 4x4 regular cab step side pickup truck was originally sold out of Ted Jones Ford in Buena Park, California and was a recent barn find in northern part of the state. It features patinaed Raven Black paint with a Jade interior. As you can see on the attached Deluxe Marti Report, it is only 1 of 11 built with these paint and trim codes and could very well be the only F-150 step side. This truck is powered by a 400 cubic inch V8motor with a 2 barrel carburetor, a C-6 automatic transmission and a 9 inch 3.50ratio Traction-Lok rear axle. The factory NP 205 gear driven transfer case powers the 4 wheel drive and features 2 High, 4 High and 4 Low settings. This truck also has factory cab light which is very, very uncommon for a ½ ton truck. The truck starts right up, runs and drives like a champ. A YouTube video link is below so you can see it running and driving for yourself. The undercarriage is dry and has no rot in the front fenders, doors or rocker panels. There is some rust present above in the roof on the inside of the cab where the headliner trim is located, some where the dash pad meets the windshield and in one of the lower step side rear fenders. An aftermarket sunroof was installed by previous ownership and that may be what lead to some of the rust in the roof mentioned above. There is also a panel repair in the passenger’s door. The barn find tires on the truck hold air but should not be considered safe for road use. Plan to bring a trailer to take this black beauty home. By all accounts, the truck has been in California since new and still retains what are believed to be the original issue blue license plates. The truck will not currently pass smog in the state of California as the emissions equipment is either missing and/or non-operational at this time. Meeting the emissions requirement in the state you intend to register it in will be the responsibility of the proud new owner. These Ford trucks are getting harder and harder to find, especially with this rare combinations of features. Bid to win as it will not last long and you may never see another one like it. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
